Why Stars and not a card?

We don't want you to give us your card details. Telegram Stars are Telegram's own in-app currency: you buy them in Telegram through your phone's app store. We only see the Stars — not your card, name or address.

For the same reason there are no automatic charges. After 30 days the subscription stops; if you want to continue, renew it in the bot. A forgotten subscription never charges anyone.

How to buy Stars

Paying takes two steps: first you buy Stars in Telegram, then you pay with them in the bot.

1. Buy Stars in Telegram Open Telegram → “Settings” (the gear) → “Telegram Stars” (on some devices “My Stars”) → “Buy Stars”. Pick a pack and pay. Below the list there is a “More options” button with other packs. Payment works like buying any app — through the app store.
2. Pay in the bot Go back to the bot → “💰 Balance” → “💳 Top up” → “Telegram Stars” → enter the amount and confirm. The Stars are deducted, your balance is topped up, and you can buy the subscription.

If “Buy Stars” doesn't work

It happens and it isn't a bot fault: Telegram sells Stars through app stores, and those don't work the same in every country and on every device. It happens most on Android and on computers. What usually helps:

• buy Stars through @PremiumBot;
• ask a friend to send you Stars as a gift — they can do it from their account in a couple of taps.

Good to know in advance

• Stars can't be turned back into money or withdrawn to a card. Buy as many as you plan to spend.
• If the Stars were deducted but your balance in the bot didn't change, don't pay again. Write to us with the approximate time of payment — we'll find it and credit it manually.
